Page County Criminal Court Cases
Three clerks share the Court Street courthouse address, but their case files serve different parts of Page County criminal court work. Page General District Court tries adult misdemeanors and traffic cases. It also conducts felony preliminary hearings. Page Circuit Court, part of Virginia's 26th Judicial Circuit, receives indictments, tries felonies, and hears appeals from district court. The Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court handles juvenile delinquency and specified adult cases involving family or household relationships. Its juvenile records do not receive the same public access as adult dockets.

That court is the right custodian for a felony judgment, sentencing order, misdemeanor appeal, or other document filed in the circuit record.
Page County Thursday Court Dockets
The lower-court schedule provides a useful Page County clue. Commonwealth matters return Thursday at 9 a.m., Virginia State Police matters at 10 a.m., and town cases at 11 a.m. Luray matters use the first and third Thursdays. Stanley uses the second Thursday, while Shenandoah uses the fourth. County-code matters are set on the second and fourth Thursdays at 9 a.m. Trials are generally assigned for Thursday at 1 p.m.
This schedule does not create a separate municipal criminal court for each town. Luray, Shenandoah, and Stanley charges all flow into Page General District Court. A person who knows the arresting agency but not the case number can use the likely docket day as a search aid, then confirm the entry by name and charge. Searching Page County Case Records
Begin with the court level most likely to hold the charge. Use the General District system for traffic, misdemeanor, and preliminary felony records. The statewide search covers criminal and traffic matters in general district courts and participating circuit courts. Online payments are not made through OCIS.

Page County Felony Case Path
A felony can produce two correct case numbers. It may begin in Page General District Court with arraignment and a preliminary hearing. If the charge is certified or a grand jury returns an indictment, a new circuit record follows. Page Circuit Court schedules grand juries on the first Wednesday of each month, with a move to the following Wednesday when a holiday intervenes. Regular court terms begin on the first Wednesday in January, April, July, and October. Motion Day falls on the Tuesday after the second Monday.
Those dates explain why a new felony may appear only in the lower court at first. Search both levels before deciding that a Page County criminal case is missing. How a Criminal Case Moves
A Page County criminal matter may start with a complaint, warrant, or summons. An arrest and initial bail hearing can follow. The GDC arraignment puts the lower-court charge on a public docket. A misdemeanor can proceed to trial there. A felony receives a preliminary hearing before certification or later indictment brings it to Circuit Court. Page County Dispositions in Plain Terms
Virginia docket terms carry distinct meanings. They matter when a Page County case seems closed but the result is unclear. The official court entry and final order control, while a short web label may need the clerk's explanation.

- The prosecutor chose not to proceed with the charge at that time. It is not a merits acquittal.
- Dismissal
- The charge ended without a conviction. Dismissal does not automatically erase the related arrest or booking record.
- Acquittal
- The court or jury made a not-guilty determination.
- Disposition
- The result or status that resolves a charge or case.
- Capias
- A court command for arrest, often tied to a failure to appear or comply.

Page County Recovery Court Records
Page County's Adult Recovery Court is a named five-phase treatment and supervision option for approved nonviolent drug offenders. Commonwealth's Attorney approval is required. Participation can affect the sequence of hearings, testing, supervision, and orders in the case record, but the program is not a separate public case-search database. Search the underlying Page County court number and ask the clerk which filed orders are public.

Case Record Access & Restrictions
Adult court records are generally available through clerk and judiciary channels, but access has limits. Juvenile case details, sealed or expunged material, victim information, Social Security numbers, and other protected identifiers are not routine public fields. The Virginia clerk-copy law governs furnishing and certifying copies. Court access follows its own rules, so a general county FOIA request is not the right route for a filed court paper.
